It started in 2006 — a camping trip to Horton Plains National Park, armed with nothing more than a basic 2-megapixel camera. That weekend in the highlands planted something lasting: a drive to return to Sri Lanka's landscapes again and again, each time with a more deliberate eye for light, composition and patience.

Sri Lanka's waterfalls are precious jewels scattered through its lush forests and valleys. Reaching them often means hours on foot, navigating terrain that most visitors never see. That effort is part of the work — and part of what makes the resulting image feel earned.

In 2019, to bring this work to a wider audience, I created landscapesphotographymagazine.com — a platform dedicated to promoting Sri Lankan landscape photography internationally. Over the past five years I have collaborated with photographers from around the world, building a community around the shared love of landscape and nature photography.

That international reach has brought recognition: selected as the first Sri Lankan photographer to appear in the World's Best Photographers & Artists gallery, and nominated for the 35AWARDS for the seventh time — submitting 200 of my finest photographs to the global competition.
